There are no disadvantages caused by
differences between the education
systems of Canada and Korea.

  • The difference in the start of semesters
between Korea and Canada leads to time
loss, but EPAS eliminates time loss as it
    allows continuous visualization of
    progress.
  • EPAS makes it easier to complete
    graduation and admission requirements
for each subject on a monthly basis in
    advance.
  • While other students have to wait until
    July for university admission confirmation,
with EPAS, students can secure university
    admission early in the year.

Distinctive Features of the EPAS Program

The EPAS program is a support program that allows online completion of the certified elementary, middle, and high school graduation requirements by the Canadian Ministry of Education, using the Canadian credit transfer system to facilitate effective completion. The difference between EXIA ACADEMY's EPAS and other programs lies in its 5-tier education system and systematic credit management system.

EPAS 5-tier Education System

1. Education Ministry-produced English lectures for all subjects

The first stage of education consists of lectures in English for each subject. These lectures are of a high standard, similar to what students in Canada would receive at school, and are delivered by teachers with strong educational backgrounds and Canadian teaching certifications.

2. Pre-recorded Korean video lectures

The second stage is a summary of the English lectures in the student's native language, Korean. The lectures are presented in both English and Korean to maximize the student's comprehension.

3.Comprehensive lectures for all assignments and exams

The third stage focuses on solving problems related to each assignment or exam. As students may have many questions when preparing assignments or exams after attending lectures, these lectures provide a pre-arranged understanding of the key points.

4. Live classes twice a week

The fourth stage includes live classes conducted twice a week by assistant teachers. These realtime classes focus on solving problems related to assignments and exams. Before the live class, students submit related assignments or homework to the assistant teachers, who then review them. The class primarily emphasizes solving incorrect or important problems. After the class, students prepare and submit the assignments or homework to the Education Ministry.

5. English conversation class once a week

The fifth stage involves a weekly English conversation class. The goal is not just to pursue grades, but to prepare students for English conversations, debates, or discussions required in universities or society.

Exia EPAS lectures are unique and effective in their approach.

Even if you don't like memorization, the content becomes firmly ingrained in your mind through repeated exposure, three times over. With Education Ministrycertified English lectures for understanding, Korean lectures for summarizing key points, homework for concept clarification, and review sessions with assistant teachers, Exia EPAS provides a powerful threefold support system. The strength of the threefold support, along with Exia EPAS's exclusive high-scoring tips, ensures excellent academic results without the need for rote memorization

Exia EPAS Credit Management System

The credit management system consists of three main elements.

Firstly, all assignments and projects are reviewed by assistant teachers and then submitted to the Education Ministry after the real-time classes.

Secondly, the availability of pre-exam summary lectures and real-time classes greatly increases the likelihood of students achieving high scores.

Thirdly, we provide weekly updates on student progress to parents. These updates are crucial because our courses are structured over a period of approximately 12 weeks, making timely submission of assignments and homework essential. Therefore, we believe that keeping parents informed is important in creating an environment where students can focus on their studies.

This well-defined process is what we refer to as the Exia Credit Management System. It significantly differs from other competitors’ tutoring and reporting management systems.

The chart below illustrates the semesterbased and grade-based class progressions in Canadian offline schools. These systems, present in both private and public schools, also come with their drawbacks. The mismatch between the Korean (starting in March) and Canadian (starting in September) academic calendars for Korean international students results in both time and cost losses. Such differences in academic calendars and grade systems can cause a mismatch with college entrance exam preparation.

The Exia EPAS program is a program that can start at any time regardless of the academic semester, which helps prevent financial and time losses. EPAS fully understands the subject-based monthly system and high college acceptance rates in the Canadian admission process. It optimizes the subject-based monthly system, allowing for early submission of subject scores during college admissions, which is highly advantageous for scholarships and rolling admissions.

Canada Education System

In the Canadian education system, each subject is worth 4 credits, and students need to fulfill 80 credits (20 subjects), which are graduation requirements, to obtain the Dogwood Diploma, the high school graduation diploma in Canada. However, the graduation requirements and admission requirements are slightly different. The table below shows the subjects that correspond to high school graduation and university admission requirements.

Our EPAS program focuses on managing subjects that meet the individual student’s desired major and university admission requirements. Additionally, the subjects that are considered in the university admission average are completed before the last semester of high school, so through EPAS’s monthly system, we guide students to be admitted to top-tier universities.

For example, 2022 September applicants = 2022 June high school graduates 2021 September – 2022 January = First semester
